Death Celebration
A Meditation on Death

In the final take, we decided that people wouldn't get inside the coffin as there are still so many covid regulations.
There is a photocopy of a candle in an upholstery spring, at the head of the coffin and a smashed indian ash pot at the foot. The projections film runs for over 16 minutes and shows the death celebration at the ghats in Pune, India and then sprinkling of the ashes and water and light reflections. I am very touched by this video that I have made and feel that the whole piece is powerful. It sends chills down and rushes of joy up my spine. It really fits with the title of the exhibition.
